About Sunrise

A neighbourhood school in Jayanagar, teaching children from LKG to Class 12 since 2004.

Our story

Small on purpose

Sunrise Public School began in 2004 with two kindergarten classes in a house on Lakeview Road. Today about 450 children from LKG to Class 12 learn on the same street, in a campus built around a library, laboratories and a playing field.

We have stayed small on purpose. Sections of around fifteen, teachers who stay with us for years, and an office that knows every family mean that no child gets lost in the crowd.

We follow the CBSE curriculum. Classes 11 and 12 offer Science and Commerce, with an optional JEE and NEET foundation course for Science students.

Our vision

Confident, kind and curious young people who think for themselves

We want our students to leave school able to learn on their own, work with others and care for the people around them.

Our promise to parents

  • We teach for understanding, not for marks alone.
  • We know every child and work with every family.
  • We publish our fees in full and bill on fixed dates.
  • We prepare students for board exams and for life after school.

What we value

Six words we use with children every day, from the LKG classroom to the Class 12 laboratory.

Respect

For every person, every opinion and every school rule.

Curiosity

Questions are welcome in every class.

Honesty

In work, in exams and with each other.

Effort

We praise hard work more than marks.

Service

Helping at home, in school and in the neighbourhood.

Joy

Music, art, games and friendship are part of every week.

From the Principal

A message to parents

Choosing a school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes. At Sunrise we want you to know exactly what you are choosing. Our fees are published in full, bills come on fixed dates, and every family has an online account for fees, homework and results.

Most of all, we want your child to be happy to come to school. Please visit us on a working day: the best way to know a school is to walk through it while children are learning.
